ABIOLA POLYTECHNIC Cut Off Mark 2024/2025

The management is yet to compile the complete list of cut off marks for MAPOLY and the departmental cut off points. These are the essential requirements to be met if one is wishing to study in the institution and needs to be admitted into any of these departments.

About the Institution

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic also known as MAPOLY is a tertiary learning institution in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The Ojere campus is in the South-Eastern part of Abeokuta, covering about 960 hectares of rolling land bounded by the Ogun River to the south. It is named after Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, who was elected President of Nigeria in 1993 but prevented from taking office.

The polytechnic was formally established in 1980 as Ogun State Polytechnic during the military administration of Harris Eghagha, but the first set of 220 students was admitted in January 1979. The Polytechnic started on two temporary campuses, Oke-Egunya and Onikolobo, moving to the Ojere campus between April 1985 and March 1988. By the 2017- session, the student population was increased to 20,878, with about 1250 academic and non-academic staff.
Presently, the polytechnic has five schools, each headed by a director, and 21 departments, each headed by a Head of Department. The schools, along with their corresponding departments, are:

  • Business & Management Studies (Accountancy, Business Administration, Business & Finance, Office & Technology Management, Marketing)
  • Communication & Information Technology (Mass Communication and General Studies)
  • Environmental Studies (Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, Estate Management, Building Tech, Quantity Surveying, and Surveying & Geo-Informatics)
  • Engineering (Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
  • Science and Technology (Science Laboratory Technology, Food Technology, Mathematics & Statistics, and Computer Science).

 

Cut off Mark 2022

Cut off mark is the mark set by the management, which is considered as the passing or clearing level of the exam to any higher institution.
Cut off varies for different exams, it varies with the availability of vacancies and competition level.

Official MAPOLY Cut Off Mark 2022

The official JAMB cut off mark for MAPOLY is 120, following the scrapping of Post-UTME by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the JAMB had released a cut off mark of 160 and above for candidates applying for Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education. However, MAPOLY has not released its cut off mark for 2022.

But the question that might be disturbing you remains: what about those that had 120 and above but were not still given the admission to study their desired courses last year?
You have to know this; candidates with higher scores are first considered; in admission basics, candidates with lower scores though might meet the cut off mark of 160 may likely not be admitted. In fact, it is the higher your scores, the higher the chance of being admitted.

MAPOLY Departmental Cut-off Mark 2022
Most Polytechnic, including the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, does not really have a specific cut off mark for courses. However, prospective candidates who have scored a minimum of 160 in UTME examination are deemed qualified to apply for admission for any of their choice courses and institution.

Mode Of Admission Screening In MAPOLY For 2022
Moshood Abiola Polytechnic normally organized her student screening exercises within a week or a couple of weeks. This usually comes in two phases. Students who applied to study are to make way for the pre-screening exercise once it has been announced.

You need the following for the pre-screening exercise
1. SSCE Result and
2. JAMB registration print out only.

It is pertinent that the candidate arrives at the venue on time in order for them to locate his/her screening venue on time. The screening will be done on JAMB Score and SSCE Result.
The second phase of the screening will come after the admission list must have been released. Candidates whose names were shortlisted in the admission are expected to come for the second screening with the following documents.

DOCUMENT ARE:
1. Original copies of their educational qualifications (Statements of Results/Certificates).
Note: Awaiting Result will NOT be allowed
2. Birth Certification/Age Declaration.
A letter of good conduct from a member of your
Community/or civil servant not below Grade Level 10 or equivalent in the private sector or your Village Head or a responsible member of your family.
3. Certificate of Local Government of Origin
4. Notification of admission status slip.
