Eligibility Criteria of the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships:
- All international students can apply.
- The applicant must not be a Canadian national.
- An international student who has a high school in Canada can also apply.
- The applicant must be nominated by the school or college.
- The applicant must be a current student in the final year of secondary school.
- In case the applicant is graduated from high school, the graduation should not be earlier than June 2024.
- The applicants must have applied to study at the University of Toronto.
- The applicants must not have started their post-secondary studies at any institute.
- The applicant must be a first-entry graduate.
Application Process of Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships
The 2024 Competition opens in September 2024. To apply, you will need to:
- Receive a nomination from your school. High schools not already contacted/verified are asked to submit an application to participate in our program, available here. (external link) High schools who have participated in a previous year will receive their nomination access starting in early September.
- Apply to study at the University of Toronto (external link) to begin your studies in September 2024 and complete your application for admission by the appropriate deadlines (external link). Please be advised that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship for your first choice of program at U of T. You may apply for several programs and may receive admission to them all; however, the Pearson Scholarship, if awarded to you, would be restricted to your first choice of program at U of T at the time our scholarship decisions are made.
- Once we’ve received a nomination and you’ve applied to the university, you can complete the online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application. You will receive a private link to the scholarship application when you are successfully nominated by your school.
How to apply and application process for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship in Canada 2024?
- The applicant applies for the undergraduate program at the University of Toronto for 2024.
- The applicant must be nominated by the institute/school and must receive the nomination from the school.
- The applicants must ensure that their high schools are contacted and verified to apply for this scholarship. In case they are not reached, the institutes first have to submit an application for participation.
- Make your course choices at the University of Toronto. Only the first choice for the study will be considered in the Pearson Scholarship 2024.

McCall MacBain Scholarship at McGill University
The McCall MacBain Scholarships are about much more than financial support. We believe in the power of community. The scholarship covers:
- Tuition and fees for the full normal duration of the master’s or professional program

Eligibility Criteria for the McCall MacBain Scholarships 2024 in Canada:
- Applicants can be Canadian citizens or international students to be eligible for the scholarship.
- Furthermore, applicants should be less than 30 years old.
- They must be current students on track to get their first bachelor’s degree by August 2024.
- Applicants must have earned their first bachelor’s degree in the past five years (till January 2018 or later).

NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS)
The NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships – Doctoral (PGS-D) program provides financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in an eligible doctoral program in the natural sciences or engineering. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields.
Applications to the PGS D program will automatically be considered for the Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship – Doctoral (CGS D) award, which is offered to the top-ranked applicants; the next tier of meritorious applicants will be offered a PGS D award.
Eligibility
Complete eligibility criteria are available on the CGS-D program page (the NSERC PGS D shares eligibility criteria with the CGS D).
However, this additional eligibility criteria is specific to the NSERC PGSD:
- Applicants may take up their PGS D at any eligible Canadian institution. They may also take it up at any eligible foreign institution, provided they have received a previous degree from a Canadian institution.
- If an applicant is offered a CGS D but decides to take the award to an eligible foreign institution, and is eligible to do so, they must decline the CGS D to be offered a PGS D award in its place.
