The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has instigated cataloging of acolytes into early child growth education(ECCDE) and main one classes of public schools for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The registration of acolytes for the next session was flagged off with a symbolic enrolment by the SUBEB Chairman, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King and other Board memberships during a programme prearranged to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day last Wednesday.
The programed held at the SUBEB head office in Maryland, Lagos also featured a prayer session and distribution of some food items to the children in attendance.
He said the present situation across the world that had made it difficult for school children to gather for learning or celebration needed spiritual intervention, henceforth the decision of the Board to hold the special prayer session. This prayer session is a mystical speculation in the future of our children.
It is our ardent belief and prayer that this pandemic ends soon. We hope that our children for whom we have organized this feel appreciated and celebrated,” he said.
The Chairman said it was significant for parentages to know that administration cannot invest in education alone without support from the society. I seize this opportunity to appreciate those that have donated to this foundation,” Alawiye-King said.
He indorsed the children to follow to measures meant to check covid-19 pandemic, such as observing physical distancing, use of face masks, practicing hand washing hygiene among others.
Muslim cleric at the session, Dr. Abdulgarfar Kukoyi reproved the children to shun indiscipline, humble and manage their time well; while Dr. Akinnusi Felix, the Christian cleric urged parents to enroll their children in schools near their home.
