NUC Grants Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Accounting and 2 Other Programmes full Accreditation Status

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, Niger State, has gained full accreditation status for its accounting program and two other programmes.

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Dr Maryam Sali, Director of Accreditation of the Commission for Academic Accreditation said in a letter to the Visitor to the University and copied to the Vice-Chancellor that the approval, which includes Public Administration and Transport Management, is the result of an exercise conducted at the University late last year by the Commission as part of its statutory duty to accredit academic programmes in the nation’s Universities.

The letter stated further that the full accreditation is for a period of five years.

Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, Vice-Chancellor of the University, acknowledged the efforts of the Niger State Government under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello for providing financial support to the University for this exercise, and expressed the hope for the next donation which will involve different programmes.

In addition, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Technology under the Honourable Commissioner, Professor Abubakar Baba Aliyu, for all the encouragement and support.

The National Universities Commission inspected the viability of the academic programs in the University in October/November 2024.
