University of Oxford is one of the leading and top Universities in the world with highest ranking capabilities. University of Oxford is a world-leading centre of learning, teaching and research and the oldest university in the English-speaking world.

The University is also organized distinctively in collegiate structure. It has 39 Oxford Colleges, six (6) private halls, which are financially independent and self-governing, but relate to the central University in a kind of federal system

The Central University constitute many different sections, including academic and administrative departments, libraries and museums.

By estimation, nearly every student at Oxford is a member of a college. Most colleges admit both graduate and undergraduate students.

Admissions at Oxford

The undergraduate admissions process is done by the University, and colleges are ultimately responsible for selecting and admitting their undergraduate students. The University admits graduate students, but once they have been offered a place by the University, graduate students are also selected by a college.

Facilities and Resources

Colleges in the University of Oxford provide accommodation, catering, social spaces, pastoral care and other facilities for their students. Also, provided by the university is careers and counselling, as well as resoulurs such as libraries, laboratories and museums

Teaching

Teaching widely known as Tutorials at Oxford is one central activities at different Colleges of Oxford for undergraduates giving students an opportunity to discuss and explore their subject in small groups with an expert in the field by;

  1. The University of Oxford supervises graduate students and examines graduate theses.
  2. Also the University determines the content of degree courses, and organises lectures, seminars and lab work for both undergraduate and graduate students.
  3. The University sets and marks examinations, and awards degrees to students.
