How to Calculate UL APS Score | UL APS Calculator

  1. Identify the seven subjects that are required for the program you wish to apply for. These subjects are usually English, Mathematics, and three other subjects from the designated list for your faculty. The remaining two subjects can be any subjects from the designated list for your faculty.
  2. Convert your final NSC or IEB percentage for each subject into a point score using the following scale:90-100% = 8 points
    80-89% = 7 points
    70-79% = 6 points
    60-69% = 5 points
    50-59% = 4 points
    40-49% = 3 points
    30-39% = 2 points
    0-29% = 1 point
  3. Add up the point scores for your seven subjects.
  4. Divide the total point score by seven to get your APS.

For example, if your final percentage for English is 75%, Mathematics is 80%, and your remaining five subjects are each 70%, your APS would be:

English: 6 points Mathematics: 7 points Remaining five subjects: 6 points each (total 30 points)

Total point score: 6 + 7 + 30 = 43 APS: 43 / 7 = 6.14 (rounded off to two decimal places)
