UNIPORT post graduate form: The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) cordially invites applications from any suitably eligible candidates for the provisional admission into its postgraduate Programmes for the 2024 academic session as well.
POSTGRADUATE AVAILABLE COURSES:
Duration for the UNIPORT Postgraduate Programmes:
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
The Programme is to course on a Full-Time basis to last for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months & 2 consecutive long vacation of eight weeks each for the sandwich programme.
MBA Programmes
Full Time: A minimum of 24 Months and maximum of 36 Months
MD and MS Programmes
This Programmes will last for at least 24 Months.
Ph.D Programmes
Full time candidates: a minimum of 24 months and a maximum of 60 months.
Part Time candidates: a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 84 months.
DBA Programmes
Full-time candidates will be required to spend at least a minimum of three (3) years and a maximum of five (5) years from the date of the first registration.
Part-time candidates will be required to spend at least a minimum of five (5) years and a maximum of seven (7) years.
UNIVERSAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
O/LEVEL: All the candidates must possess at least credit pass in English Language and Mathematics alongside other O/Level requirements as stated by each Department or Faculty.
PGP PROGRAMMES
The minimum requirement for the Postgraduate Diploma Programmes is a Bachelor’s Degree in the related disciplines.
Candidates must also possess at least a Second Class Honors Degree or Third Class in the related Discipline. For the HND holders a minimum of Upper Credit is hereby acceptable in the relevant Departments and faculty.
MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Candidates must possess at least a Second Class Honors Degree of the University of Port Harcourt or any well recognized University, in the relevant course with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale or its correspondent.
Candidates that are applying for the Master’s in Education must have acquired a first Degree in any other field and in addition to that a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDF) with at least an Upper Credit classification. Each candidate for the MBA Programme must also possess a durable measurable experience.
Candidates with the PGD must have a CGPA of 3.50 to register for the Master’s Degree in the relevant field of his/her choice.
Ph.D PROGRAMMES
Normally, for the Ph.D Programmes, candidates ought to have a Master’s Degree with at least a minimum CGPA of 3.50 or 4.00 that is depending on the Department or its corresponding grade in the relevant discipline at the Master’s level. The provisional admission will be based on the interview performance. Ph.D involves course work and also the qualifying examination.
MD/MS PROGRAMMES:
The candidates must either be graduates of Medicine (MBBS) of the University of Port Harcourt for not less than five (5) years or established and proficient academic staff of the University with Medical Degree of the recognized University.
Along with the above, the candidates must also possess either a recognized professional qualification at the fellowship level or at least an M.Sc Degree of a recognized University, after the MBBS Degree given.
Steps in applying for the UNIPORT post graduate admission form
The Application Fee is the sum of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000.00) should be paid online at any of the following Banks:

- Sterling Bank Plc
candidate are to pay the sum of Six Thousand Naira (N6.000) only for the Prospectus or brochure.
Candidates are hereby advised to also visit www.sgs.uniportdatacenter.net/portal/application in order to download the Application Forms after the payment is made.
Please note that the payment for the Application Form does not all that guarantee admission and the application fee is also non-refundable to the payee.
INSERTIONS TO ACCOMPANY THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
Please you have to enclose two copies of the following documents in a file.
- Original Degree/Postgraduate Diploma Certificate.
- NYSC Discharge Certificate/Exemption Certificate.
- The original O’ Level Certificate.
- Your original Birth Certificate/Affidavit of Age Declaration.
- Marriage Certificate/Newspaper Publication of Change of Name where applicable.
- Local Government Identification Letter.
- Receipts of payment for the Form.
