- Only applications from PTDF partner universities in Malaysia, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France will be accepted for the 2024/24 award. This is due to the fact that these nations will serve the scheme’s objectives best and the scholarship’s high standards can be maintained there.
- The scholarship portal at scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng contains a comprehensive list of sponsored courses and application forms.
Please make sure you meet the following conditions:
- Before applying for the scholarship, lecturers must provide a letter from their Vice Chancellors confirming that they are not receiving any other scholarships.
- They must also possess a National Identity Number (NIN) and complete the NIMC verification (charges apply).
- Proficiency in computer use and completion of the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC).
- A First degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) and a good second-degree certificate.
- A maximum of five-page research proposal on a relevant oil and gas industry topic that includes an introduction, objective, methodology, and data collection method.
- Before applying for the scholarship, lecturers must provide a letter from their Vice Chancellors stating that they are not receiving any other scholarships.

M.Sc. candidates:
Please keep in mind the following necessities:
- A minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) or Second Class Lower (2.2) in the first degree, as well as relevant industry experience.
- Completion of the required National Youth Service (NYSC).
- Computer proficiency.
- At least five credits at the O/level, including English Language and Mathematics.
- A statement of purpose (maximum of 500 words) outlining the reasons for the proposed study, its relevance to the industry, and its potential impact on national development.
- Possession of a National Identity Number (NIN).

- Discharge from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and General Certificate of Education.
- National Examinations Council (NECO) with the appropriate PINs on the application form for PTDF to verify on the relevant website
- A recent photograph from a passport
- Letter of identification from the local government
- Master’s degree certificate (only for PhD applicants)
- Evidence of professional association membership
Criteria for PTDF International Postgraduate Scholarship Selection
Regarding the selection procedure for PTDF scholarships, please take note of the following:
- The scholarships are up for grabs, and only the best applicants will be chosen.
- Top candidates from each state in each category will be invited to an interview based on their qualifications.
- The following criteria will be used by a selection committee to evaluate the applications:
- Academic merit, which includes the quality of earned degrees, complete academic transcripts, and professional credentials.
- Relevant publications (only for PhD candidates).
- Participation in professional organizations.
- The plan for the study or research’s viability.
